Introduction

CreativePass is a professional photo and video editing application that allows users to apply Look-Up Tables (LUTs) and color grading effects to their media. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide

Photos and Videos: When you import media from your photo library or capture new content using your camera, CreativePass processes these files locally on your device to apply LUTs and effects.
LUT Files: When you import custom LUT files, these are stored locally on your device for use within the app.
Account Information: If you create an account, we store your email address, a display name, and the sign-in method you used (email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email; we then receive only Apple's relay address.
Subscription Status: Whether your account has Pro access, and the identifiers our payment processor assigns to your subscription. We never see or store your card details.
Push Notification Token: If you enable notifications, the device token Apple issues so we can send you reminders you've opted into.

2. Device and Access Information

Camera Access: With your explicit permission, CreativePass may access your device camera to capture photos and videos for real-time LUT application.
Microphone Access: With your explicit permission, CreativePass may access your microphone to record audio when capturing videos.
Photo Library Access: With your explicit permission, CreativePass may access your photo library to import existing photos and videos for editing and to save edited content back to your library.

3. Technical Information

App Usage Data: Basic analytics about app features used to improve user experience (optional, with your consent)
Device Information: iOS version, device model, and app version for compatibility and support purposes

How We Use Your Information

Primary Uses

Media Processing: To apply LUTs, color grading, and visual effects to your photos and videos
Content Creation: To enable you to create, edit, and export enhanced media content
App Functionality: To provide core features like camera capture, media import/export, and LUT management

Secondary Uses

App Improvement: Anonymous usage data helps us understand which features are most valued
Technical Support: Device information helps us provide better customer support
Compatibility: Version information helps ensure app compatibility across devices

Data Storage and Retention

Local Storage

Photos and Videos: All media files are stored locally on your device within the app's sandboxed storage
LUT Files: Imported LUT files are stored locally on your device
Temporary Files: Processing files are temporarily stored and automatically cleaned up

Cloud Storage

CreativePass does not store your media files or the LUT files you import on our servers — all editing happens locally on your device.
Account, subscription and notification data (described above) is stored with our backend provider, Appwrite, in a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany, and is protected by per-user access rules so only you and our systems can read it.
Content packs you download from the Store are delivered from that same backend; the download itself is not logged against your account.

Data Retention

User-Generated Content: Retained until you manually delete it from the app
Temporary Files: Automatically deleted within 24 hours or when the app is closed
Account Data: Retained until you delete your account (Account → Delete Account), which removes your profile, subscription record and notification tokens and revokes your Sign in with Apple grant. Payment records are kept by our payment processor as required by law.
Analytics Data: Retained for 12 months in anonymized form

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We Do Not Share

Personal Information: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information
Media Content: Your photos, videos, and LUT files never leave your device unless you explicitly share them
Usage Data: Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions:

Appwrite (Appwrite GmbH): Hosts our backend — user accounts, sign-in, subscription status, notification tokens and the content-pack catalog. Data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany. Appwrite privacy policy
Stripe (Stripe, Inc.): Processes Pro subscription payments. Stripe receives your email and payment details directly through its checkout page; we receive only a customer and subscription identifier and the subscription's status. Stripe privacy policy
Apple: Sign in with Apple (if you choose it), push notifications (APNs), and App Store distribution.
Google: Sign in with Google (if you choose it). We receive your name and verified email address only.
System Frameworks: iOS system frameworks for camera, photo library, and file management (processed locally)

Your Rights and Choices

Control Over Your Data

Access: You can view all media and LUT files stored in the app
Deletion: You can delete any or all of your content at any time
Export: You can export your edited media to your photo library or share via standard iOS sharing
Permissions: You can revoke camera, microphone, or photo library access at any time through iOS Settings

Opt-Out Options

Analytics: You can opt out of analytics collection in iOS Settings
Permissions: You can deny or revoke access permissions at any time

Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

Local Storage: All data is stored within iOS app sandboxing
No Network Transmission: Your media files are never transmitted over networks
iOS Security: Benefits from iOS's built-in security features

Children's Privacy

CreativePass is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

International Users

Your data is processed locally on your device and is not transferred to or stored in any other country. CreativePass complies with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
Notify users of significant changes through app updates
Post the updated policy in the app

Specific Statements for App Review

Face Data

CreativePass does not collect, use, store, or share any face data or biometric information. The app does not use Face ID, Touch ID, or any facial recognition technology.

Clarification on Skin Tone Feature: CreativePass includes a "Skin Tone" color adjustment slider that applies a global hue shift to the orange/red color spectrum in images. This feature:

Does not detect, analyze, or identify faces
Does not collect or store any facial data
Is a manual color grading tool that affects the entire image
Uses the standard iOS "face.smiling" icon only as a visual indicator for this color adjustment feature
Processes all adjustments locally on device without any biometric analysis

Health Data

CreativePass does not collect, use, store, or share any health data or health-related information.

Location Data

CreativePass does not collect or use location data. The app does not access your device's location services.

Advertising

CreativePass does not use third-party advertising networks or serve personalized ads.
